Project Registration

All projects over $50,000 and subject to compliance with the standards are required to be register with TDLR prior to submitting the plans for a building permit. You can register your project on TDLR website, www.tdlr.texas.gov/TABS. The Project Filing Fee is $175 and is nonrefundable. You will be asked to provide a RAS number, 1546.

After you register your project be sure to print out and save the Confirmation Page from TDLR showing the TABS number.

If you are unable to register the project yourself, we can register the project for you. You will need to fill out the Architectural Barriers Project Registration Form (hyperlink) along with $200 for TDLR Filing and service fee.

Plan Review

Texas Accessibility Standard requires plans and specifications be submitted to a Registered Accessibility Specialist no later than 20 days from the issue date with a Proof of Submission Form (hyperlink). Once the plans are submitted, we will review plans for compliance and provide a report detailing if any corrections are required. TAS Consultants will submit all required information to TDLR and address any questions or concerns you have along the way.

Inspection

Texas Accessibility Standard requires the owner of a project to obtain an inspection from a RAS no later than the first anniversary of the completion of construction. Owner must submit a Request for Inspection (hyperlink) to the RAS. Once an inspection has been requested, TAS Consultants will meet the owner or representative at the project and inspect the project for accessibility compliance. A report will be generated and submitted to you and TDLR.
